IEEE SENSORS Workshops promote informal discussion of an active research area, acting as forums for researchers interested in a specific topic. We encourage proposers to focus on formats that encourage discussion and participation. Workshops are normally offered by two or three presenters. Proposers are asked to ensure technical diversity (e.g., academic and industrial, different skill sets, or different organizations), and background diversity and inclusion in their proposed event.
Workshops are intended to highlight topics of importance to the sensors community and facilitate efforts to tackle the relevant challenges. The audience is usually a mix of students as well as early-career and established researchers and engineers. Workshops can run for half-day (three 50-minute sessions with breaks) or full-day (five 50-minute sessions with breaks). The Conference will provide the meeting room and presentation equipment.
The Conference Organizing Committee will evaluate proposals and make decisions based on:
i. The relevance and quality of the proposed event;
ii. The event’s format and likelihood of creating an engaging intellectual environment;
iii. The inclusiveness of the event to people with different backgrounds and expertise.
Individuals interested in submitting a proposal to SENSORS 2026 will be asked for the following information:
- Names, Emails, Affiliations, and Mailing Addresses of all presenters
- Workshop Title
- Preference of full-day or half-day workshop
- Short Abstract/Description of the Workshop
- Workshop Content (Limited to 350 words)
- Please describe:
- The relevance of the workshop topic and its expected impact;
- The format (e.g., presentations, panels, breakout sessions, interactive activities) and how it will encourage discussion and participation. Highlight any novel aspects of the format. It is recommended that a venue be provided for young researchers
to interact with senior researchers. - Tentative schedule.
- Please describe:
- Plan to Solicit Participation
- (Limited to 300 words) Describe who the primary audience will be and how you plan to attract researchers with relevant expertise to attend the event. If you have organized similar events in the past, estimate the number of participants that you expect. List the titles, organizers, and URLs of the previous events.
- Plan to Encourage Interaction Among Participants
- (Limited to 250 words) What steps will you take to encourage interaction among participants? How do you plan to promote active discussion between established experts and early-career researchers beyond invited talks or a poster session? Workshop proposals that have the potential to increase the number and diversity of participants, encourage participants to stay for the full duration of the event, and promote interaction will be given preference.
- Dissemination
- (Limited to 200 words) Describe a dissemination plan for the materials or for the contributed papers, contributed talks, and outcomes of the workshop (e.g., accessible online archive for media, articles, and discussions). Workshop papers should encourage and prioritize new ideas and may be a non-archival abstract based on a prior publication. However, they cannot take the form of existing papers that are published or under review.
- Equipment (Optional)
- (Limited to 150 words) A computer projector and screen will be provided. List any other required equipment that the SENSORS 2026 organizers might need to provide. Specify if special arrangements/equipment will be needed.
